Fenerbahçe Club published a statement stating that their efforts on the field were overshadowed by the referee mistakes made in recent weeks and that these mistakes harmed the sense of justice in football.
HERE IS THE STATEMENT FROM FENERBAHÇE:
TO THE PUBLIC
Since the beginning of the season, we have preferred to stay out of all discussions and focus only on the field and the game. We wanted football to be talked about without getting caught up in provocations or producing polemics. This is our stance; It was a requirement of the responsibility to create a fairer, cleaner and more respectful climate not only for our club but also for the future of Turkish football, considering Turkish football. Until today, we have carried out the process in contact with our Federation, by taking the necessary initiatives and on a constructive dialogue basis. However, this common sense and our will to stay on the field does not mean that we will consent to our rights being usurped.
The referee mistakes that have occurred in recent weeks and are no longer exceptions clearly harm football’s sense of justice. Every decision that does not reward the effort on the field affects the rights of not only a match but also a community.
Those who try to overshadow Fenerbahçe’s efforts with consecutive erroneous referee decisions should know that; We will not accept a system in which those who make noise benefit and those who remain silent and gentle are victimized. We will stand against every decision that ignores our hard work on the field.
We expect the Turkish Football Federation and especially the MHK to immediately take clear and concrete steps that will carry the process to the most fair and transparent basis.
