The men were actually supposed to compete on the legendary Kandahar slope on Sunday. Nothing will come of it.
The men’s World Cup Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen fell victim to adverse weather conditions on Sunday. After two attempts to postpone the event, the jury finally had to cancel the race on the Kandahar due to fog and rain.
The question of a catch-up date for the third-to-last Super-G of the season remains open for the time being. Before the World Cup final in Kvitfjell, the speed riders only have the race in Courchevel left.
On Saturday, the Swiss Marco Odermatt won the downhill on the Kandahar. He prevailed ahead of his compatriots Alexis Monney and Stefan Rogentin as well as the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr. Odermatt leads by a comfortable margin in the downhill and super-G rankings.
