British, 20 years old, Matthew Brennan had never won in Belgium before today: and the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne “risks” being the first success of a long series, given the potential of the Visma-Lease a Bike athlete. But behind him Italy responds presently: second place for Luca Mozzato and third for Matteo Trentin, both from Fabian Cancellara’s Tudor who confirms to be a team in great growth. “They were good,” says the Swiss team manager. However, there was nothing to be done for Jonathan Milan, who broke away about seventy kilometers from the end and never returned. For Brennan it is the 14th success as a pro: no 2005 like him.
