Ari Luusua37, skied eighth in the legendary Vasaloppet race in Sweden. In the 90-kilometer traditional race, Luusua even fought for a place on the podium until the very end.
Luusu was five seconds from the podium and the difference to the winner was nine seconds at the finish line.
Sweden won the competition Oskar Kardinwhose difference from the others was so significant, he still had time to vent in front of the following crowd at the finish line. Sweden took a triple victory when they finished second Alvar Myhlback and thirdly Nils Dahlsten.
The top group stayed together for a long time. 10 kilometers before the finish line, Sweden’s Kardin grabbed the lead and tried to run away from the others. The gap started to grow little by little. Luusua fought in the group that came after until the last kilometers.
Luusua returned from the doping freeze to the skiing competitions for this season. Vasaloppet is part of the Ski Classics series.
