(toskanews) – Sal Da Vinci triumphed at the 76th edition of Sanremo Festivalreturning to the Ariston stage 17 years after his last participation with Forever yesa song that inaugurates a new phase of his artistic journey. «I had the pleasure of going on stage at the Sanremo Festival in 2009 and it was a great emotion because it is a dream that I have been chasing for many years, I was almost there 13 failed attempts”.
«2009 was even a daring festival for me because I was eliminated and then picked up again and was even pushed onto the podium and therefore it is a very fond memory. Then I waited another 17 years and many things have rightly happened in these 17 years, including theatre, records and so on, wonderful satisfactions, but this instead was a miraculous news, I didn’t expect it. I bring my music, my feeling, my honesty in presenting this song which I believe can belong to everyone, I do it by dancing on tiptoe”, he said on the eve of the singing competition.
The song, an expression of the maturity of a well-rounded performer with over forty years of career, focuses on love and the most important promise in life: the story of two people who continue to choose each other, despite everything. A love understood as a daily choice in its purest forman invisible thread that unites two people over time. The song is produced by Merk & Kremont and Adriano Pennino and written by Sal Da Vinci, Francesco Da Vinci, Alessandro La Cava, Federica Abbate, Merk & Kremont and Eugenio Maimone.
«My song is called Forever yes talks about the consecration of a love. It speaks of a promise, of our promises which are often a little so shaky. Instead in this song it doesn’t just refer to the promise of marriage which is wonderful. But also of our commitment to building our future. So promises must be kept».
During the cover evening Sal Da Vinci performed together with Michele Zarrillo reinterpreting Five Days. A meeting between two similar artistic sensibilities that dialogue on a song that has marked the history of Italian songwriting. A song that, more than thirty years after its first performance in Sanremo, continues to speak to the present, crossing new generations and languages.
