The police warn against scams in Eindhoven. Four cleaners were working in a front garden in the Stratum district on Saturday and charged a lot of money for their work.
These are handyman and maintenance companies that offer door-to-door services to people. “They ask too much money. They also put pressure on people to pay after the work,” said Woensel-Zuid police.
The police advise against doing business with handyman companies that spontaneously report to the door. They drive around in a gray Peugeot van.
Extortionate bills and threatening language
The foursome was previously active in Someren. The police then also warned about handymen. “We regularly receive national notifications of handyman and maintenance services, often from abroad.”
Often hardly any good work would be done. Residents are also often presented with exorbitant bills using threatening language. “Choose a recognized and reliable company!”, according to the police in Someren.
