Werder Bremen can breathe deeply again for the first time in weeks. An important success was achieved in the duel between the relegation candidates.

This victory is like a liberation for Werder Bremen. Bremen won 2-0 at home against Heidenheim on Saturday afternoon. The first success after 13 games without a win in a row. Jovan Milošević scored after 57 minutes, and Hennes Behrens scored in his own goal in stoppage time (90+7).

Previously, both Milošević himself (36′) and Romano Schmid (45’+2) had failed to hit the empty goal. And Keke Topp (90th + 2) also couldn’t take advantage of a great opportunity.

Werder’s new coach Daniel Thioune, who took over three weeks ago and has remained without a point in the three games so far, will also be happy. With the win, Bremen slips to 16th place in the table, while Heidenheim remains last with 14 points.
