The explosion took place last night at 00.47 in the Koning Willem I-laan in Hoofddorp. The police cordoned off the area with tape. Heavy fireworks were probably used, but a police spokesperson cannot yet say what caused the explosion.
Several emergency services responded en masse. The house was severely damaged by the explosion. Photos show that several windows have been shattered.
Three residents were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation. It is not yet known how they are doing at the moment.
The police are investigating what exactly happened and have seized traces.
