“I hate no one more than my son”: mother and father want acquittal after 13-year-old Alexander takes his own life

“Why does mommy act like this with me? I’m not doing anything wrong.” That’s what Alexander from Vilvoorde said to the cleaning lady, after his mother shouted at him again. For years the boy begged for mother’s love, but he mainly received criticism and gossip. “I prefer my cats,” she said. “And I hate no one more than my own son.” Alexander was 13 when he took his own life at home. But according to the mother, one has nothing to do with the other. On Tuesday, she and her partner are fully committed to the acquittal.
