The Senegalese Ligue 1 has been represented in the Transfermarkt database since the beginning of the 2025/26 season. Just in time for the start of the second half of the season, the league’s market values were updated for the first time. In this context, we provide an overview of the most valuable teams and which talents you should keep an eye on.
At the top of Ligue 1’s first market value ranking is Abdourahmane Mbodji from Génération Foot, the youngest team in the league. The 17-year-old offensive talent has so far scored seven goals in 16 games and is valued at 300,000 euros. In the transfer market rumor mill, Mbodji is already being linked to VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt, among others.
This is followed by two players with a starting market value of 250,000 euros: the also young striker Mouhamed Diop (17), whose six scorers contributed to the provisional lead of his club AJEL Rufisque, and the second best goalscorer in the league Boubacar Coly (21; 6 goals) from Casa Sports. The market value podium is again completed by a duo from Génération Foot: central defender Christian Cabo (21) and playmaker Mouhamed Dieng (21), both of whom rise to 200,000 euros.
Also worth mentioning are Casa’s attacking midfielder and long-time favorite Malick Sambou (27) as well as a duo from Teungueth FC: defender Alassane Ly (21) and keeper Pape Dieng (31) contributed significantly to the fact that the third-placed team in the table only conceded two goals in 16 games. Both Sambpu and Ly and Dieng are now valued at 175,000 euros.
Ligue 1 squad values in Senegal: Génération Foot sets the tone
In the first squad values ranking, Génération Foot (2.07 million euros) is at the top, just ahead of AJEL Rufisque (1.99 million euros) and Casa Sports (1.86 million euros), while Teungueth FC (1.75 million euros) misses the podium.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
