An amateur soccer team wants to travel to Türkiye together, but ends up being targeted by the justice system. The reason for this is a considerable amount of cash.

Customs stopped an entire football team at Stuttgart Airport – with unusual luggage. There was a considerable amount of cash in the 29 men’s suitcases.

As the Stuttgart General Prosecutor’s Office confirmed, members of an association from the Pforzheim area had a total of around 215,000 euros with them. The money was presumably supposed to be brought to Turkey. The “Badische Neuesten Nachrichten” reported first.

During the check, the officers found cash amounts between 4,000 and 9,900 euros on each of the men. The footballers are now being investigated on suspicion of money laundering.

The incident occurred in early February. The accused are at large again. The public prosecutor’s office did not provide any further details for tactical reasons.
