On the night of September 5 to 6, 2024 according to the court, the man broke a bottle. With the shards of that bottle he walked to the victim and hit him in the neck. The victim was left with two scars from the stabbing.
The suspect indicated that he acted in self-defense, but the court sees no evidence for this. He states that he sought confrontation himself and the victim tried to de-escalate the situation.
Of the three years in prison, one year is conditional. The pre-trial detention will also be deducted from the sentence. In addition to the prison sentence, the man must pay compensation of 7,500 euros to the victim.
