The crescent-star team will face Romania at home on Thursday, March 26, in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifications play-off round. If the national team overcomes the obstacle of Romania, they will play away against the winner of the Slovakia-Kosovo match in the final on Tuesday, March 31.
TFF moved the 27th week matches, which were to be played on 20, 21 and 22 March, to 17, 18 and 19 March in order for the National Team to work together more and to prevent the national football players playing in the Turkish leagues from getting worn out before the Romanian match.
In the statement of the decision, the Turkish Football Federation announced that if the teams competing in the European cups advance to the last 16 rounds of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League, which will be played on March 17, 18 and 19, the league matches they will play in the 27th week will be postponed to a later date.
