Gianluca Prestianni’s conscience began to knock.

Gianluca Prestianni admitted the truth to his teammates. PDO

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhãn by Benfica player Gianluca Prestianni has admitted to his teammates that he insulted the Real Madrid player Vinicius Junior racist.

The episode happened when Benfica hosted Real Madrid in the opening match of the 1st knockout round of the Champions League.

Prestianni, who raised his shirt in front of his mouth, was seen saying something to Vinicius after the Brazilian player had shot the away team to a 1-0 lead. Vinicius immediately reports what he heard to the head referee of the match.

After the match, the players of the Spanish team told the media that Prestianni had called Vinicius a monkey five times.

The Argentinian and Benfica, which he represents, disputed the claim. Nevertheless, Uefa suspended Prestianni for one match for the second leg, which was played on Tuesday in Madrid.

Real Madrid advanced from the pair of matches with 3–1 aggregate goals.
