Luka has already largely exceeded the playing time of the last Liga: with Real 24-25 he played for 1820 minutes in the league, in this Serie A he has gone over two thousand, exactly 2096. According to the League’s statistics, he is the second player in Serie A for successful passes: 634 against the over eight hundred of the Juventus player Locatelli, among other things twelve years younger. Modric is also the player with the highest Gazzetta rating average, if we exclude Alisson Santos and Malen, who only arrived in Italy in January with a disruptive effect in the penalty areas of Naples and Rome. Luka is also a reference outside where, without arrogance but with great humility, he brings with him all the aura of a former Ballon d’Or winner. Everyone admires him: beyond the coach, the staff, the club and obviously his teammates. For the group Modric is simply “the Master”. The fans went so far as to bother Maradona, dedicating to him the chorus that belonged to the great Diego: «You know why the corazon beats me, I saw Luka Modric». A light that however does not obscure those who play with him, and in fact this is also the Milan of Rabiot, Leao, of Maignan himself; and which inspires the younger kids who hoped to have a space and find it occupied: Ricci and Jashari are very happy to learn from the Maestro. Happy is also the term that describes Modric’s state of mind: Milan and AC Milan have embraced him since his arrival. Surprised by so much affection and motivated by the environment: being a point of reference for his younger teammates is a responsibility that stimulates him, rather than a pride. With these premises it is easy to think that Luka can convince himself to remain at the Rossoneri next year too. There is already a clause that would allow the club to renew for another season, beyond the June 2026 deadline. But no option will be exercised without the player’s will. Modric also deserves the utmost respect for the club. Luka is not only a technical champion, but a perfect testimonial for any club event or promotion. Choice at the end of the season He will therefore decide his own future; Milan, with CEO Furlani and sporting director Tare, would be happy to indulge him if he chooses to stay another year. With a role that would inevitably be different, but equally decisive: less quantity, even more quality and the usual leadership. The feelings are positive and as mentioned all the parties involved are pushing for Modric to stay. The chances of another Rossoneri season are high. Certainly higher than the other possible options on the table: retiring at forty, after a season as a protagonist in his favorite team, Milan; the return to Croatia for one last championship at Dinamo Zagreb or the move to Arabia, which would make him even richer. However, it was understood that for Modric, true wealth is well-being: Milan guarantees it.
