“He was so mature… Rial himself said that they were friends. And one day Mariano Obarrio posted a screenshot that confirmed that she was passing him information,” he messaged Lilia Lemoine, in your personal X account, referring to Marcela Pagano. The libertarian legislator again charged on social networks against the former LLA parliamentarian, connecting her as the anonymous source that leaked data from the block of pro-government deputies to Jorge Rial.

The political relationship between Pagan and Lemoine Since the beginning of 2024, she has gone through an escalation of public tensions that exposed parliamentary internal affairs, crossed reproaches and indirect accusations linked to leaks of party chats. The first visible short circuit occurred when the former journalist was proposed to chair the Impeachment Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, a designation that generated resistance within the ruling party itself.

In this context, Lemoine publicly expressed his disagreement with the nomination and questioned the bloc’s internal strategy, which led to exchanges on social networks and statements to the press that exposed the fracture. Since then, the differences were no longer limited to the legislative sphere and moved to the media field.

As the months went by, versions began to circulate about leaks of private conversations from WhatsApp groups of the libertarian bloc. Part of these exchanges were broadcast on the program of journalist Jorge Rial, who showed captures attributed to internal discussions of pro-government legislators. The publications included strategic debates and questions towards leaders of the space itself, which increased internal unrest.

In this context, the former cosplayer slipped on social networks that the leak came from a member of the block, without initially mentioning her directly. Later, in posts on the social network explicitly linked Pagano with the delivery of those chats to the Argenzuela driverstating that “in the end the person who gave the La Libertad Avanza Deputados chats on WhatsApp to Rial was Pagano.” The accusations were not accompanied by judicial documentation or official confirmation from the bloc, but they raised suspicion in the public debate.

Marcela Pagano

Pagano rejected the accusations and denied having handed over private conversations to journalists. In different media interventions, she maintained that she was the victim of an internal operation and questioned the attempt to hold her responsible without evidence. From those around them, they stressed that the dissemination of internal chats constituted a widespread practice in politics and that there was no proof that she had been the source.

The chats broadcast by Rial included exchanges from the WhatsApp group of national deputies of the ruling party in which positions on voting, parliamentary strategies and positions on sensitive issues were discussed. The suspicion about Pagano was based, according to versions spread on the networks, on the fact that she maintained differences with the leadership of the bloc and had expressed criticism of some colleagues, particularly the president of the lower house, Martin Menem, which for his detractors constituted a possible motive.

The deep confrontation between the two legislators exposed the fragility of internal coexistence in the libertarian bloc and forced Pagano to separate from the sector, joining the Coherencia bloc, along with other former libertarians. Between crossed accusations, posts on networks and television repercussions, the conflict between Pagano and Lemoine became one of the most notorious episodes in the Lower House.
