Ex-Bayern defender Martín Demichelis (45) has found a new job as a coach: The Argentine is now in charge of the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca. He was last on the sidelines at Mexican club Monterrey, but was released in May 2025. Before that, he also coached his youth club River Plate as well as the reserves and U19s at Munich. He left Europe at the turn of the year 2022/23 and is now returning.
Demichelis should now lead Mallorca to stay in the league. The team is currently in 18th place in the table with 24 points. The former Argentine international has signed a contract until the end of the season with an option for another year. His predecessor Jagoba Arrasate had to leave at the beginning of the week after around a year and a half.
