THEsecond evening of Sanremo 2026 has collected, in terms of total audiencean average of 9 million 53 thousand viewers, equal to 59.5% share. The share figure exceeds that of prime time (stationary at 58), but the number of viewers drops (yesterday they were 9 million 600 thousand).

Last year the second evening of the festival achieved – again in total audience – 11 million 800 thousand spectators (equal to 64.6% share). In comparison with himself, Carlo Conti, and his festival, are therefore losing ground, making this curve appear declining ratings, a trend that will continue until the final. The difference between 2025 and 2026 is three million audiences and 5 share points, and counting.

Sanremo 2026: ratings for the second evening continue to drop

Looking at the peaks of the second evening: the highest audience was reached at 9.57pm, with 13 million 706 thousand viewers – entry of Pilar Fogliati; the highest share was recorded at 00.48 with 66.1% (Lillo’s show).

Having said that, the result share of the second evening of Sanremo 2026 remains the fourth best result since 1995, when the festival hosted by Pippo Baudo collected 65.42%. The last three editions have done better, with 64.6% in 2025 (again with Carlo Conti), 60.1% in 2024 and 62.3% in 2023, with Amadeus.

The magic created last year by Conti seems to have gone up in smoke. There is talk of a tired public and of Big names who do not create the background noise and anticipation of other years. Super guests who don’t explode on stage. Co-hosts whose role is confused with the valetism. Moments of heartfelt tributes – like the one to Ornella Vanoni – which are lost late at night, and made in a bad way.

Even in the city, in the streets, the crowd hunting for autographs, even in front of the hotels, seems contained and not very lively. However, the competition remains high. The Top 5 of every nightwith a different vote, holds the conspiracy theory festival classic alive and well. Who wins, who goes down, who goes up, what a scandal last night’s ranking was without a woman.
