Hoeneß gives the all-clear to DFB professional Stiller
February 25, 2026 – 5:35 p.mReading time: 1 min.

Recently there were slight concerns about national player Angelo Stiller in Stuttgart. But now coach Sebastian Hoeneß has given the all-clear.
VfB Stuttgart can rely on Angelo Stiller in the Europa League second leg against Celtic Glasgow on Thursday evening (6.45 p.m., live in the ticker on t-online). The national player did not suffer a long-term injury after a blow to the knee and completed team training on Wednesday. In the Bundesliga game on Sunday, the five-time German senior national player had to be substituted with an injury.
Coach Sebastian Hoeneß, however, has to do without defense chief Jeff Chabot, who is missing due to suspension. It is still unclear who will represent him in the defense center. “Wait and see what happens tomorrow,” said Hoeneß. “Jeff is missing, but we have alternatives.” One option is Ramon Hendriks, who played at left-back in the first leg. Maximilian Mittelstädt could then be used on the outside. Luca Jaquez and Ameen al-Dakhil are also alternatives.
Despite the clear 4-1 first leg win against the Scots, Hoeneß warns against the reunion. “It’s only half time, so to speak,” said the coach. “But we are confident that we will qualify for the next round.” VfB could afford a defeat by two goals in front of their home crowd.
Should Stuttgart reach the round of 16, the club will face FC Porto or Sporting Braga. The draw will take place on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland.
