Why Yungblud supposedly still has to work on a triangle solo and what Noel Gallagher and Bond have to do with it.
In addition to his music with the band Oasis, Liam Gallagher is also known for his humorous comments on the X platform. He repeatedly comments on what is happening in the music industry in a biting way.
Now he also allowed himself to comment on the rock musician Yungblud and on rumors about the new song for the next offshoot of the James Bond series.
Noel Gallagher teaches Yungblud what?
In recent months there have been rumors that Oasis is at the top of the wish list for the film production studio Amazon MGM. Noel Gallagher even commented on this on Talksports: “This James Bond thing? What, Oasis? No.” But he also stated that he was generally very interested in contributing the 007 theme song: “Should Oasis do that? Absolutely! Of course. It would be a great honor and I think things like this should be done by Brits and not Americans.”
The rock artist Yungblud also seems to have the same interest. He recently gave an interview on “Kerrang” in which he clearly expressed his interest in a James Bond song: “I would love to do that. For every British artist, a Bond song is the big goal and is on a par with a headline appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.” He also mentioned the two Oasis brothers and his desire to work with them: “I’d be up for collaborating on a Bond song if Liam and Noel fucking wanted me there.”
In fact, Liam Gallagher indirectly responded to these statements from Yungblud. A user asked on X how the scoring of the next 007 adventure was going. The singer then made one of his less serious comments, writing: “It’s done, we’re just waiting for Yungblud to finish his triangle solo.”
As a result, he went one better and brought his brother Noel Gallagher into the game. When a user asked why the guitarist was back in the studio and when the singer would join him, he simply replied that Noel Gallagher was teaching Yungblud the parts for the triangle solo: “He taught Yungblud the parts for the triangle solo.”
There is probably not much seriousness behind these statements, and it is therefore rather unlikely that there will be a collaboration between the “Zombie” interpreter and the Britpop band. What can be said, however, is that Liam Gallagher is once again in top form when it comes to humor.
Oasis have been toying with a Bond theme song for a long time
The musicians of Oasis have repeatedly expressed their interest in recording a Bond song over the years. In 2008, Noel Gallagher stated in an interview with NME that he had “already written a few Bond tracks” and also said: “It’s a bit ridiculous that the greatest British agent of all time has to be set to music by a bunch of damn Americans.”
Liam Gallagher also said in 2019 that he had recorded a song for the 007 series. In the direction of the Bond producers, he added: “Call us, why not.”
Not much is currently known about the current Bond project, which Denis Villeneuve is working on as director. It is neither clear who will score the film nor who will star in the main roles.
