The attempted burglary happened yesterday afternoon around 4 p.m. on Sportlaan in Hoogkarspel in West Frisian. A bystander saw one of the suspects trying to pick the lock of a car. When the bystander confronted the suspects, they fled, after which he alerted the police.
Officers drove to the report and soon had the pair in their sights. They hid in the bushes in a closed area, but then fled again on foot.
Police dog Jack helped with the search and, together with the officers, gave chase. The suspects have been arrested and are being interrogated. These are two minor boys from the municipality of Stede Broec.
