MT Melsungen has to do without ten players against Vardar Skopje. Coach Garcia Parrondo now relies on young talent from the second row.

MT Melsungen faces a greater challenge in the European Cup game against Vardar Skopje as ten players are unavailable for various reasons. Coach Roberto Garcia Parrondo is therefore relying on young talent from the second team to close the gaps.

Those missing include David Mandić, Vlad Kulesh and Olle Forsell Schefvert. The reasons are minor injuries, the stress of the European Championship and a virus that hit the team. Assistant coach Finn Lemke explained: “This way we can test players from the youth and second teams and introduce them to the professional team.”

Despite the personnel difficulties, Melsungen leads Group III of the European League with 6-0 points. The league leader qualifies directly for the quarter-finals, while the second and third reach the play-off round.
