Donald Trump welcomed the USA ice hockey gold medalists to the White House. “I recognize each and every one of you, I know all of you,” the US President shouted to the Olympic champions as the team entered the Oval Office. Trump had decorated his office with gold decorations.
The ice hockey cracks, who won their first gold medal since the “Miracle on Ice” in Lake Placid in 1980 in Milan against arch-rival Canada (2:1 nV), had previously flown to Miami on a charter flight, from where they continued to the capital Washington DC
The team posed for photos in front of the White House before the players attended Trump’s State of the Union address.
According to media reports, the US women’s ice hockey team declined Trump’s invitation for scheduling reasons.
