New blow to gay rights in Africa: Senegal threatens heavy prison sentences, Uganda arrests women after kiss

Senegal wants to take even tougher action against homosexuality. Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presented a bill to parliament on Tuesday that would punish homosexual relationships even more harshly, with prison sentences of five to ten years. Two women were arrested in Uganda. Neighbors accused them of kissing each other in public.
