Former figure skater Gabrille “Sam” Linehan28, was shot to death in St. Louis. About that tells among others, NBC.
Linehan was the victim of a robbery while picking up takeout coffee at a local Starbucks on the morning of February 10. The robber shot Linehan after forcing him to give up his credit cards at gunpoint.
The incident was recorded on the cafe’s video cameras, which allowed the police to track down the suspect. A 58-year-old man arrested on Wednesday has been charged with murder.
Linehan is the World Cup silver medalist in figure skating from 2014. After his sports career, he worked as a coach.
– This loss is both surprising and heartbreaking for the athletes, supporters and the entire skating community, Linehan’s club Metro Edge Figure Skating Club said in a press release.
– We will miss and forever remember coach Sam. He will always be a part of our community.
