The Stuttgart retailer E. Breuninger GmbH & Co. has now introduced its digital marketplace concept in Austria. Chief Customer Officer (CCO) Felix Kreyer announced the launch on Tuesday in a post on the business network Linkedin.
“With the launch in Austria, we are consistently continuing our internationalization while remaining close to local needs,” wrote Kreyer.
According to a report in the specialist magazine Österreichische Textilzeitung, with this step Breuninger “established the concept, which has been successfully established in Germany and currently has around 300 partners, on an international market for the first time”. The local focus of the range is “on the traditional costume, ball and evening wear as well as ski and outdoor segments, which have particular importance in Austria,” says the article.
Breuninger has been enabling selected partner brands on its German platform to “sell their products to our Breuninger customers via a third-party connection” since 2020. The aim is to “offer our customers new products and product categories and to continuously increase availability,” explains the company on its homepage. With the move to Austria, the concept is now being implemented outside of the home market for the first time.
