Kees de Bever, John de Bever’s husband, never misses an opportunity to appear on television himself. Yesterday he even made an appearance in Shownieuws with a broken nose. “Ouch.”

It is no secret that John and Kees de Bever are very fond of attention. They literally do not pass up a single TV invitation, because that would be good for the rate that John can charge for his performances. In fact, John even applies for programs that are not even on the air at the moment, such as Star Dancing on Ice.

Magical makeup artists

The most desperate expression of their media addiction seemed for a while to be their current participation in the sad Ranking the Stars, but Kees is now going next level. He sat at the desk yesterday, badly battered Show news to chat a bit about showbiz ins and outs and to tell us something about his celebrity podcast.

Kees had a hard fall in his home this weekend and broke his nose. “We have to start with you, Kees, because our magical make-up artists have really done their best,” said presenter Tooske Ragas.

Double rate

Kees agrees. “Yes, double the rate today. Hahaha.”

Tooske: “What happened to you, boy?”

Celebrity photographer William Rutten: “Boxing Influencers or not?”

Kees: “No, I did not participate in a program. I had a lumbago attack in my back and that caused me to faint at night when I went to take aspirin. And then I fainted again and lay in bed for a long time.”

No memory

Private boss Evert Santegoeds notes that Kees has no memories of it. “You know very little about it, do you?”

Kees: “Yes, I know I sat down on the stool and woke up in a puddle of blood. Yes, and my nose was broken.”

William: “Who helped you in the end? Because that man of yours obviously doesn’t hear you at all.”

Kees: “No, but he heard the blow and went looking for me. He didn’t know where the blow came from, because I sometimes lie somewhere else. Now I was in the kitchen.”

Broken

It is really serious, says Kees. “It’s really broken and I have to come back on Thursday to see if it needs to be broken again to straighten it out. I hope I can be spared that. Tomorrow I have an MRI scan of my back to investigate that.”

Tooske: “That nose can still be fixed, but don’t worry, because you don’t want to keep falling?”

Kees: “Fainting is of course not good, but we won’t go into that further. We’ll start with the MRI of the back. It’s step by step. Everything always turns out fine in the end.”
