Without question, Rush is one of the most important rock bands of our time. Geddy Lee (bass, keyboards, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals) and Neil Peart (drums, lyrics), who died in 2020, have sold more than 45 million albums. Among the Canadians’ accolades: “the third-most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band – behind the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.”
After Peart’s death six years ago, Rush’s future was initially up in the air. But Lee and Lifeson have brought Rush back to life for a tour in 2025 – and are now supported on stage by drummer Anika Nilles, a Mannheim native.
ROLLING STONE wrote: “It’s true that Rush don’t mean today what they meant in 1976 or even 1996. Maybe they mean more.” Foo Fighters boss Dave Grohl inducted Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 with the words: “Rush built their following the right way. No hype, no nonsense, they did it from the ground up. Their legacy is incredible and their influence is undeniable.”
Five Rush concerts in Germany
Lee and Lifeson embark on Rush’s next concert tour eleven years after their last tour – as a tribute to Neil and their fans. Five Germany concerts are on the tour schedule in 2027. It starts on February 21st, 2027 in the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany ends on March 4th, 2027 in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart.
