The fashion collection of entrepreneur Kirsti Paakkanen, known as the owner of Marimekko, was auctioned on Sunday. It was only the first part.
One of the most desired items at the auction was Christian Dior’s black necklace designed by John Galliano. 54 bids were made for the jewelry and finally the jewelry was sold at auction for 7,200 euros.
Buyers were also interested in Christian Dior’s evening dress, which was also designed by Galliano. The blue evening dress sold for 6,706 euros. There were 53 bids for the evening dress.
The third most expensive product was a Chanel handbag from 2010. 40 offers were made for the handbag resembling an ice cube. The price for the handbag was 6,601 euros.

The most offers were made for Christian Dior’s black evening dress. After 92 offers, the price of the evening dress was 5,285 euros.
The second most bids came for a long-haired Christian Dior stole and a Christian Dior scarf designed by John Galliano. 84 offers were made for both products. The price of the stool at the auction was 2,302 euros and the scarf was 2,800 euros.
The auction house Stockholms Auktionsverk Helsinki was responsible for the auction.
– It is an internationally very high-level collection that represents the best from the world’s most prominent fashion houses. Kirsti Paakkanen chose her clothes with the same sharpness and courage with which she ran her business, auction chamber expert Helena Laakso said in the release.
Paakkanen died in November 2021. There has been a long legal battle over his property.
