The Russian Football Federation (RFS) has withdrawn its appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against FIFA’s expulsion from the 2022 World Cup European Qualification play-off tournament.
In the statement made by CAS, it was stated that RFS withdrew its appeal against the decision of the FIFA Council after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
But RFS will continue to fight against UEFA’s decision to ban Russian clubs and national teams from their organizations until further notice.
In the statement, it was also stated that Russia applied to cancel the bans brought by the international federations to which ice skating, biathlon, gymnastics, rowing and rugby branches are affiliated.
