Christiaan Bauer has permanently quit his office job in the tax world. Not surprising, because he earns a lot more money with his folk songs. “2,750 euros for half an hour of work!”
We see Christiaan Bauer appearing more and more in the media. The cheerful son of Frans Bauer is not bothered by the nepobaby label and is making good progress as a starting singer. Although he graduated cum laude in Tax Law, he ultimately decided to permanently quit his office job in the tax world.
Christiaan is going fast
Initially, Christiaan wanted to combine both jobs, but success overtook him, he says in the Weekend. “Yes, I tried that for a while. But I was somehow lucky – and actually unlucky from a fiscal point of view – that things went so fast with performances and TV things that I just had to choose.”
Isn’t it a waste of his long studies? “Yes, if you put it like that, it might be a shame. But I do enjoy it more, so that’s worth something. Singing is really a hobby. And I wouldn’t say that studying or working is my hobby.”
2,750 euros
Christiaan also earns a lot more money by singing, Weekend knows. “We found out what the market value is of the new generation of Bauer. Anyone who wants to book Christiaan has to dig deep into their pockets. His fee now amounts to 2,750 euros for half an hour of performance.”
A considerable amount, according to the gossip magazine. “Compare that to the 9,900 euros that father Frans asks, and you immediately see that Christiaan is already almost a third of his father’s success.”
Suits
How does Christiaan look back on his short tax career? “In the end, I really enjoyed the work. I did an internship at a tax consultancy firm. It was always a bit like I was starring in the series Suits. I often had to wear a suit and then I went to court again, which I thought was cool too.”
The law book is now lying at home, he concludes. “Yes, things can turn out differently. Because yes, I am now a full-time singer.”
