«Fstop all the clocks, isolate the telephone,/ silence the dog…”. These are the opening words of Funeral Blues Of WH Auden, among the greatest poets of the twentieth century. Born in England under the sign of Pisces, he lived the life of a restless traveller.
He soon left his country to seek greater freedom, first in poetry, then in the USA, and finally in himself. The sensitivity of Pisces blends with the intensity of Scorpio ascendant. Mercury is the radar that searches for something absolute in others, someone to bridge the distance between itself and the world.
Behind his irony and lucidity, he remained a vulnerable man, capable of very strong bonds and radical solitudes. At the beginning his poetry is driven by political urgency, he participates in the Spanish civil war among the ranks of the republicans. Then, after a constant wavering of routes, in 1939 he moved to the United States.

His poems align themselves with geographical oscillations with daring exercises in style: «Poetry can do a thousand things, delight, sadden, disturb, entertain, instruct». Uranus conjunct Venus signals a further turning point. Auden no longer wants to transform the world as Neptune encouraged him to do, but to grasp its mystery.
In his maturity he wrote his last collection Thanks, fogverses facing the end. Thus it completes its metamorphosis from a restless voice of modernity to a whisper of the soul, as if after going through the storm, with its Moon conjunct Pluto, it had learned the silent language of the stars.
