Samra was temporarily arrested on Phuket. The German embassy confirmed the incident.

According to media reports, Samra was arrested on the Thai holiday island of Phuket. The German embassy is said to have confirmed the incident – the Berlin rapper himself denies any drug connection.

What is known so far: Arrest after a night of partying

According to consistent media reports, Samra is apparently at large again – but the circumstances of his interim arrest on the Thai island of Phuket are causing a stir. The “Bild” newspaper was the first media outlet to report that the musician had been taken into custody as part of a check. According to the report, substances in the so-called category 4 according to the Thai narcotics law were found on the rapper. These include prescription psychotropic drugs such as diazepam, lorazepam and midazolam. Under Thai law, the import of such products is legal provided there is a doctor’s prescription and the amount does not exceed a maximum of 30 days’ needs.

When asked by “Bild”, Samra allegedly confirmed that she had been caught in a traffic stop, but expressly denied any connection with drugs.

German embassy confirms the incident

According to “Bild”, an employee of the German embassy in Bangkok is said to have confirmed the arrest to the newspaper. According to the report, the embassy recommended that Samra hire a lawyer, which he did. The process has not yet been independently confirmed; All information is based on the report in the “Bild” newspaper. The police in Chalong, a town in the south of the island’s capital Phuket City, are also said to have confirmed the arrest to “Bild”.

Burglary in Berlin: Shortly beforehand, Samra offered a reward

The report from Thailand follows another incident that recently made Samra’s headlines: around two weeks before the reports from Phuket, his Berlin apartment was broken into. The rapper then published a video on his Instagram channel that shows open cupboards, clothes scattered on the floor and overturned boxes. Samra offered a reward of 30,000 euros: “If anyone can provide me with real evidence about the perpetrators and knows who is behind them, I will put 30,000 euros on the table,” he wrote in the post.

Life and career of the Berlin rapper

Samra, real name Samra Omerović, was born in Berlin in 1993 and grew up in the capital. The son of Bosnian immigrants has been one of the most respected voices in German-language street and gang music since the mid-2010s. He first gained greater fame through collaborations with the Berlin rap label Ersguterjunge, where he came into contact with Bushido, among other things. His debut album SAMRA was released in 2019 and reached number one in the German album charts.

In the years that followed, Samra established herself as an integral part of the German-speaking rap mainstream with further chart projects and numerous collaborations. His style combines melodic trap elements with lyrics that often address street experiences, personal loyalty and the tension between origins and advancement.
