Donald Trump has once again exploited the death of an American public figure for his own purposes. In response to the news that Reverend Jesse Jackson died on Tuesday is, the president used Truth Social to remind everyone that he can’t be racist as he was very nice to the famous black activist.
“I knew him well, long before I became president. He was a good person, with a lot of personality, courage and ‘street smarts,'” wrote Trump. “Despite the fact that I am falsely and constantly called a racist by the villains and lunatics of the radical left, the Democrats ALL, it has always been a pleasure for me to help Jesse on his journey.”
Trump further emphasized that he provided Jackson’s civil rights organization Rainbow/PUSH with office space in Trump Tower in New York City and “responded to his request for help in passing and signing CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM when no other president had even attempted to do so.”
Trump has already dealt against Rob Reiner
The president accused former President Barack Obama, the only black president in U.S. history, of not showing enough gratitude to Jackson. “He had a lot to do with the election of Barack Hussein Obama, a man Jesse couldn’t stand without receiving recognition or praise for.”
“He loved his family very much and I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to them. Jesse will be missed,” Trump added at the end of his lengthy post.
It is not the first time that Trump has used the death of a prominent figure for his own benefit. In December, for example, Trump mocked the director Rob Reinerbecause he died of “Trump Insanity Syndrome” shortly after Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home.
“He was known for driving people crazy with his frenzied obsession with President Donald J. Trump, his apparent paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump administration exceeded all goals and expectations of greatness, and with America’s Golden Age perhaps like never before before us,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Jackson has repeatedly criticized Trump since he took office a decade ago. In 2018, for example, he described Trump as “a man of earned wealth and privilege who appears to have no understanding of our situation.”
