Here, the new manager Ned Sampson finds himself dealing with unlikely collaboratorsscarce economic resources and her colleague Esmeralda (Sabrina Impacciatore), annoyed at having been bypassed and treacherous in setting traps.

The Paper draws a merciless and scathing picture of journalism, the drift of a profession forced to chase the world of social media and apps and to deal with the precariousness and end of a romantic mission (embodied by the dreamer Ned).
The narrative scheme is that of a crew filming a documentary on the life of the editorial staffwith the various characters (bordering on the eccentric) who address the camera as if in a “confessional”, leaving the task of constructing the story to the direction and editing. The Paper looks with bitter irony at a world of journalism in an identity crisis.
