Wouter de Winther stood up for the talk show queen during Eva Jinek’s umpteenth Today Inside bash. “Can I just add something?” calls the Telegraaf journalist.

There are few celebrities who are so often fooled Today Inside as NPO talk show star Eva Jinek. Yesterday it was her turn again, because according to Wilfred Genee she is too lazy to continue working during the current Olympic Games. NPO 1 currently broadcasts sports in the early evening and no talk show.

Wilfred is looking for Eva

Ridiculous, Wilfred thinks. “By the way, I’m always looking for Eva. Is she on another channel? I can’t find her!”

Bar guest Tina Nijkamp: “No, that’s right. She has a two-week holiday due to the Olympic Games.”

Wilfred: “But she had just been released, right?”

Tina: “That’s right, she’s just been off work for a month.”

Four days

Really lazy, Wilfred thinks. “And she only works four days a week, or am I wrong?”

Telegraaf journalist Wouter de Winther, Eva’s regular guest, stands up for her. “Can I just add something? She wanted to continue, but the NPO had her out because of the Olympic Games.”

Wilfred: “Yes, but then why don’t you sit somewhere else?”

Wouter: “She wants that, but if the NPO says…”

Save a job

Wilfred is annoyed by Wouter. “You’re saving your job, aren’t you? Very good for you.”

Wouter: “Job? I have had a very good job at De Telegraaf for fifteen years.”

Johan Derksen then brings up Eva’s expensive Amsterdam studio. “Hey, Wouter, do you also find it nice and cozy there in those very expensive Halls?”

Wouter: “It is a nice place there, yes. It is nicer than Hilversum, I must tell you.”

Amsterdam

The location of Eva’s studio is much more atmospheric than the Media Park, where the atmosphere is grave. Johan: “That is a nice place for Amsterdam residents.”

Wouter: “I don’t go there in my spare time. To work, but not to go out.”

Wilfred cynically: “You can see the difference, right, with De Hallen. A completely different studio, a different atmosphere.”

Johan: “Yes, the whole atmosphere is different!”

Wilfred: “Yes, it is very different TV! Much more special actually.”

No sense

Wouter does not join in bashing Eva’s expensive studio. “I don’t understand any of that and fortunately I have nothing to say about it. Hilversum is of course terrible. You think so too.”

Johan: “Well, no, you can park properly here and leave immediately. For Amsterdam you have to drive another half hour and then it takes another half hour to get from the outskirts of Amsterdam to De Hallen.”

‘Quite handy’

Many talk show guests live in Amsterdam, Wouter notes. “Then it is quite convenient. I find Amsterdam more pleasant to go to than Hilversum.”

At the end of the show, Wilfred asks Wouter to say hello to Eva. “Only again in two weeks? Wow, he’s had such a long day off, isn’t he? Unbelievable! And he’s still free on Fridays, isn’t he? Oh, it’s unbelievable! Give me a collective labor agreement like that!”
