Carolyn and John-John died in a plane crash in July 1999 while traveling with John-John Rory– to my cousin’s wedding. Rory is the son of John-John’s father, President John F. Kennedy JFK’slittle brother by Robert F. Kennedy daughter. Both JFK and Robert were assassinated in the 1960s. These and other fateful events have often been referred to as the curse of the Kennedy clan, which has also spread over the Bessette family. In addition to Carolyn, the small plane piloted by John-John had him on board Lauren-his sister. All three drowned in the Atlantic Ocean.

Carolyn and John-John managed to be together for five years. They got married in September 1996. The relationship had its ups and downs. John-John had grown up in the limelight. Carolyn was troubled by the huge media attention the relationship brought.
– It’s not a question of whether I want to spend the rest of my life with you. The question is whether I will become Mrs. JFK Jr., Carolyn says in the biographical TV series.

Playing Carolyn has also been controversial by Sarah Pidgeon attitude towards his role. He has spoken on the subject earlier this month For The New York Times. On the one hand, the opportunity to play an iconic character was exciting. On the other hand, there was a responsibility, even a heavy one. Pidgeon received his share of negative attention. The shooting of the series was still in progress, when social media went wild with the pictures published from the shooting. Pidgeon’s appearance was derided as a cheap version of its prototype. The actor says that he stayed away from social media, but the criticism still reached him.
Pidgeon will be seen alongside John-John Paul Anthony Kelly. Other roles are interpreted by e.g Naomi Watts and Grace Gummerwhich is Meryl Streep’s daughter.
