THEto New York Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2026/27 reveals the trendy bags that will mark next season. Not simple accessories, but true objects of desire capable of redefining a look. On the catwalk, the creations of Michael Kors, Coach And Ralph Lauren, among others, they explore bold volumes, fine workmanship and details that transform each model into a style manifesto.

From handle bags with rigid handles to retro silhouettes revisited in a contemporary key: next winter’s trends take shape in New Yorkanticipating the models we will see everywhere in the coming months.

The first trend is: there are no trends

The first releases on the catwalk tell of a season still in progress, where bags do not respond to a single trend but change skin depending on the creative vision. In New York, variety dominates: we move from structured volumes to destructured shapes, from retro references to almost experimental intuitions. The young and fresh wardrobe of Coach surprises with one postman in patchwork leather in shades of brown, front flap and closure with the C-logo, with the charm of times gone by but perfectly in line with the Gen Z aesthetic. The proposal of Hill Road: a soft, pleated, butter yellow bag, transformable and wearable both on the shoulder and under the arm, designed to change along with the look.

Coconut effect, the print that will dominate Autumn Winter 2026/27

If the shapes still seem to be in the process of settling, a material fil rouge decisively imposes itself: the press (fake) crocodile. Autumn-Winter 2026/27 already makes it an announced must-have. From Tory Burch comes in version trunk rectangular, short handles, dark chocolate brown coconut-effect leather, designed to accompany an easy, concrete day wardrobe, to grab on the fly before going out.

The interpretation of Ralph Lauren: a cappuccino colored handle bag, rigid handle darker lacquered, strap with central buckle and small decorative tassels.

Important pieces of the New York calendar are still missing from the stock exchanges Michael Kors to those of Calvin Klein, to draw definitive conclusions. One thing, however, is clear: the era of only beautiful bags is over. Now they have to actually work.
