Marieke Elsinga rarely leaves the reserve bench at RTL 4. It seems that the channel has no longer extended its exclusive contract. “But that’s not yours business!”
For a moment it seemed that Marieke Elsinga would emerge nicely, but after her departure from RTL Boulevard she has mainly proven to be a disappointment in prime time. RTL 4 also no longer seems so impressed by her talent, because we hardly see the presenter on television anymore. What is the current state of affairs?
Chantal vs Marieke
Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden thinks that RTL has shifted its focus. “Speaking of people we hardly see on TV anymore: Marieke Elsinga. Do you remember last week when it was announced that Chantal Janzen will get yet another new program at RTL? Holland’s Got Talent,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private.
“And Marieke Elsinga actually has nothing left, except that she is in the group of Kopen Zonder Kijken, of presenters from RTL who will replace Martijn Krabbé en masse. Very nice, but Marieke let me know yesterday that she is not getting any new programs yet.”
Fat contract
Private boss Evert Santegoeds wonders whether Marieke is still exclusively under contract with RTL. “Does she still have a cool contract?”
Jordi states that Marieke reacted rather sharply when he asked her that. “She didn’t want to say that either. I asked her: are you a freelancer or under contract? And then she says: ‘Well, that’s not your businessJordi’, so I’m not allowed to talk about that.”
Couple of flops
What nonsense, says Evert. “Of course it is our business.”
Jordi: “Yes, of course! I can check that, right? I’m a media reporter! Who do you think you are!”
Evert has the feeling that Marieke has lost that contract. “Yes, of course Marieke has had a few flops.”
The Jump
Marieke has received a lot of comments on the way she presented The Jump. “I thought that was quite a nice program, but not the way she was shouting there,” says Evert.
Jordi concludes: “That program took an hour. After jumping into a hole for an hour, you’re done with it. In any case, she hasn’t found a gap in the market yet, you could say.”
