Leontien van Moorsel thinks it is very unwise that Gordon has committed to appearing on the cover of Men’s Health after the summer. “I think that is very healthy for your body.”
To generate some publicity for both camps, Gordon and Men’s Health magazine join forces. The intention is for the entertainer to be on the cover of the magazine in the fall. In concrete terms, this means that he has about six months to lose about twelve kilos and grow some muscles to look somewhat cover-proof.
Not the oldest
Gordon himself is looking forward to it. “I’m going to do everything I can to make it as f*cking cool as possible. Yes, sorry, pardon my language. I hope that I can really be an inspiration to men my age. I will be 58 then. I think: at the age of 58, try to shine one more time and have that stomach toned and feel good about yourself,” he says in Show news.
Isn’t Men’s Health something for young, fit men? No, Goor is not even the oldest model to date. “That was Jaap Jongbloed. He was 65 or 64, so I am not the oldest, no, but I am the fattest.”
Very extreme
Tooske Ragas finds it a challenge. “He has eight months and needs to lose twelve kilos.”
Studio guest Leontien van Moorsel thinks it is doubtful. “Yes, you know what I think about this? You’re going to do something very extreme for eight months, but I think it’s better to just change your way of life and not do that in eight months. Just change your lifestyle…”
Tooske: “Yes, that’s all correct, but then you won’t be able to go to Men’s Health in eight months.”
Not healthy
Leontien, who was a top athlete in the past, thinks Gordon is being very stupid. “Yes, but then you will lose an extremely extreme amount of twelve kilos and then you will start eating and drinking everything you can eat and drink again… I don’t think that is really very healthy for your body.”
Tooske: “So you’re actually saying: don’t do it?”
Leontien: “Well, you know, I would just… No, I wouldn’t do it.”
Never normal
Private boss Evert Santegoeds thinks Gordon is exaggerating. “Things can never be normal with Gordon. It always has to be so extreme.”
Leontien: “No, but I don’t believe it is good for your body either.”
Evert: “I think it’s great, but the whole summer is in between. Well, we know what he does in the summer. Then he goes on holiday six times. If he can keep it up… Yes, he will also keep up that radio program longer than I thought.”
Leontien: “What do you think he will do after eight months?”
Man of words
Ronald Molendijk gives Gordon the benefit of the doubt. “Gordon is not known as someone who is a man of his word, but at the same time he has been on the channel on time every morning for a long time and secondly: I think it’s crazy that he is going to do it. F*ck it, just show for once that you are a man of character, right? That’s nice, isn’t it?”
Tooske: “Go, Gordon!”
Leontien concludes: “Yes, and how nice would it be if he held it too, right?”
