Sarah Ferguson lost everything, even Queen Elizabeth’s two loyal corgis. When the former duchess, also involved in the Epstein scandal, decided not to follow Andrew in exile at Sandringham, she was forced to abandon Muick and Sandy, the two little dogs which she had taken care of since the death of the sovereign, which occurred in September 2022. The former prince took them with him to his new home, one of the villas on the Norfolk estate. But he doesn’t take them for walks himself: corgis have a bodyguard who takes care of their daily routine.

Former Prince Andrew has secured custody of Queen Elizabeth’s corgis

The fostering of the corgis to the 65-year-old Andrea was not, in reality, a given. Although it was the former Duke of York who had given them to his mother and, upon Elizabeth’s death, he had brought them back to him Royal Lodgehis home in Windsor, last October the situation changed. In withdrawing titles and offices from his disgraced brother, King Charles had also threatened to take back the dogs.

King Charles wanted to take away his brother’s corgis

According to rumors, at Buckingham Palace there was much discussion about the future of corgis, the last of a long series of dogs that belonged to the queen. And the opinion of all Carlo’s collaborators, himself included, was that by now, precisely because of the scandal and its inevitable repercussions, Andrea and his ex Sarah Ferguson (who at the time were still living together in Royal Lodge) were no longer considered capable of offering the two little animals a stable and peaceful environment.

The exile of the former Prince Andrew to a temporary home

Now resident in Wood Farm – a cottage on Sandringham Estate that King Charles forced him to temporarily move into a few days ago, in the middle of the night, while renovations continue on what will be his home of the future, nearby Marsh Farm – Andrea Mountbatten-Windsor seems to have won not only the battle against her brother, but also the one against Ferguson, who in recent years had become very fond of corgis.

Sarah Ferguson’s affection for the Queen’s corgis

The former duchess, who in this period does not yet appear to have a fixed home, was in the habit of regularly posting photos and news on social media of the two little dogs who, in September 2022, attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in Windsor. Concerned for their well-being, Sarah had revealed that corgis were quite sad at times and evidently they missed their old mistress, while at other times they behaved as if Elizabeth were again next to them, in the same room. So much so that Ferguson said she was convinced that the sovereign was trying to communicate with her through her beloved corgis.
