New single with an emotional background

The new single “You Got To Lose” has an emotional background, especially for singer Dan Auerbach. In the song he sings: “You have to lose / You can’t always win…” The single was created at a time when the musician was caring for his now deceased father, who was suffering from cancer. Working on the song was an unspoken agreement between the duo, intended to give Dan Auerbach some distraction. “NME” reported on this.

Dan Auerbach said about the album: “We didn’t record an album. We just jammed, like, this is for us.” He continued: “Originally, in a moment when our nerves were frayed, we just screamed. We went through a lot and tried to cheer each other up. I think that my father’s illness made me not care about anything and just wanted to scream.”
