After pressure from Ryanair: Wallonia withdraws an additional tax of 3 euros per passenger at Charleroi airport

The Walloon government has decided not to approve the tax of 3 euros per passenger at Charleroi airport, which was introduced by the city. Both the government of MR and Les Engagés and Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary were strongly opposed to this additional tax from the municipal council. The low-cost airline even threatened to offer even fewer seats if the city did not reverse its tax measure.
