According to the BBC, a few Russian athletes accepted for the Winter Olympics have connections to activities supporting the war in Ukraine. The International Olympic Committee has given permission to 13 Russian athletes to compete in the Milan-Cortina Olympics as neutral athletes (AIN). The status of a neutral athlete required, among other things, that the athlete has not received support in any way for Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine – even on social media.
