Omer K. (40), man who defrauded hundreds of Flemish families, has died in Turkey: investigation opened into malicious intent

Omer K. (40) from Hamme in East Flanders, the man behind the multi-million fraud with solar panel company Deltasun, was found dead in Istanbul last year. That’s what ‘Gazet van Antwerpen’ writes. The news comes at a time when the public prosecutor wanted to take him to court. Omer fled to Turkey last year in the company of Hilde R. (39), the businesswoman from Oudenaarde who is suspected of murdering her husband. While she is now back in a Belgian cell, the Turkish authorities are now investigating whether the scammer’s death was suicide or whether there was malicious intent.
