Gavin McKenna, hailed as the NHL’s new superstar, is threatened with even decades in prison.
Charges have been brought against a hockey player who plays at Penn State University, reported the news, among other things Onward state and Hockeyfeed.
McKenna, 18, is charged with aggravated assault, misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct and harassment.
According to the indictment, McKenna was guilty of aggravated assault, which “attempts to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme recklessness.”
Aggravated assault alone can land a hockey player in prison for 20 years if found guilty.

The charges are related to last Saturday night’s events in central Pennsylvania.

According to the allegations, there was an incident during the evening in which McKenna assaulted another person. The victim’s jaw was allegedly broken as a result of the incident.
McKenna has been considered a potential No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL draft.
The puck player has collected 32 power points this season. He has scored 11 goals and 21 assists.
Prior to the alleged incident, the Penn State team was playing against the Michigan State University team. Penn State lost the game, but McKenna scored in the game.
