The quarter-final game between Holstein Kiel and VfB Stuttgart is overshadowed by animal visitors to the stadium, at least during the break.
A rabbit provided the evening’s entertainment at the DFB Cup quarter-final between Holstein Kiel and VfB Stuttgart. Shortly after the half-time whistle, the animal ran across the lawn of the sold-out Holstein Stadium when the score was 0-0 and was greeted with cheers by the spectators.
The first half of the cup game was rather moderately entertaining in terms of sport. Despite a few chances, the favored Swabians were unable to prevail against the well-organized defense of the second division team.
With icy temperatures in the Schleswig-Holstein state capital, the sporting highlights initially failed to materialize. The unexpected animal guest provided the greatest moment of excitement for the spectators a few minutes after going into the dressing rooms before disappearing from the field again.
