Angela de Jong wonders whether Linda de Mol would have opened her mouth against her brother John de Mol if her own daughter Noa Vahle had worked behind the scenes of The Voice.

Linda de Mol made a major mistake during the Voice scandal: she knew about Ali B’s misconduct, but did not inform her brother John de Mol – then still producer of The Voice. It was a year ago this month that Linda promised in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard that she would say something about this subject, but she lied.

Linda remains silent

Linda has still not taken accountability or put on the robes, unlike her former right-hand man Jildou van der Bijl. He recently more or less acknowledged in Tim Hofman’s podcast that she and Linda should have done more with the two women who came forward with complaints about Ali B.

Media journalist Marcus den Blanken in the AD Media Podcast: “There is a passage in that podcast (by Tim Hofman, ed.) about the two women who knocked on Linda’s door and it finally becomes clear – we have known this for a while – that one of those two women worked for Linda in the editorial office of LINDA.”

“To your brother!”

Too little has been done with their stories, Marcus believes. Especially because it concerned a colleague. “We couldn’t say it that way then because we didn’t want to spread victim information.”

“Only: if you, as Linda de Mol, hear that there is an editor who works for you and who has had unpleasant experiences with Ali B, there is someone else there and they want to take action, but just don’t want you to say anything… Then you can go to your brother, right?”

Knock

What should Linda have said to John? “Just knocking: ‘I can’t reveal everything, but maybe you should kick Ali B out of the jury and not let him come into contact with young female talents.’ That is an essential point for me.”

His colleague Angela de Jong said: “If you believe those two women, it seems very normal to me that if you know that Ali B is in all kinds of your brother’s shows and interacts with women there, that you protect those women.”

Own daughter

Apparently it wasn’t close enough for Linda, Angela sneers. “I always wonder what she would have done if her own daughter worked there behind the scenes and knew that she came into contact with Ali B. Would she have taken action?”

Marcus: “I had always informed him in this case.”

Angela: “Me too. But yes, she thought she had done nothing wrong, because those women were not allowed to do it. Then I still think: there is a greater interest above all, and it can also be done very easily anonymously.”

Bad behavior

Marcus thinks that Linda has simply messed up. “She’s not to blame, she just didn’t do the right thing here.”

Angela: “Definitely.”

And what does she think of Linda’s threats to Tim? “I just don’t like that. The problem is also very much placed on the person who makes it and I think her biggest problem at that moment was at home and that was the person she had to be angry with.”
