There has been a short circuit in a switch box of a train in the Schiphol tunnel, NS spokesperson Carola Belderbos told NH. It is not yet known how the short circuit occurred. In any case, the NS says it does not assume this was intentional.
Initially it seemed that a number of trains could still run, but ProRail and NS announced around 7.15 am that all train traffic around the airport had been stopped for safety reasons.
