The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at a house on Antje Breijerstaat. Flames were shooting out of the building at the rear of the house. The fire brigade managed to get the fire under control in a short time, but the damage to the house was extensive, the safety region reports. The two immediately adjacent houses also suffered damage, but were able to be released in the morning.
Several homes were evacuated as a precaution during the fire. About 20 residents were temporarily accommodated in the middle of the night at the police station, which is not far from the house. “The police were there to provide support, officers took the residents to the station in vans.”
The fire brigade continued to extinguish the fire for some time. After the fire was out, most people were able to return to their homes. The damage to the house where the fire broke out is extensive. This property has not yet been released. The residents must temporarily stay somewhere else.
The injured victim has been taken to hospital. It is being investigated how the fire could have started. Arson is not suspected.
